This workshop weaves together emerging scientific discoveries with ancient spiritual wisdoms to explore connections between your yoga practice, nervous system, and total health & well-being in a safe and supportive setting.
Why? For many of us, our entire systems are on overdrive, almost constantly sensing threat, detecting danger of an unidentified source. Paradoxically, today’s technological innovations - and society writ large - paint “frictionless” as not only idyllic but the aspired norm, leaving us at times incapable of accepting or navigating natural frictions of life. And this tension can take a toll on our health — physical, mental, emotional, relational. Despite the pervasiveness of this phenomenon, many of us feel like we’re facing the resulting challenges all on our own. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy has named loneliness as an epidemic affecting 1 out of every 2 people in this country; this workshop aims, also, to remind us that we need not feel so alone.
Our time together explores ways to access and potentially befriend an expansive range of sensation, feelings, and thoughts in service of balancing our nervous systems. We’ll practice purposeful, gentle movement, and immerse in an assortment of integrative activities and teachings. This workshop is accessible and inclusive to all. No prior experience with yoga is needed.
